Add a field group

All fields must be added to a field group. If there are inherited field groups, these cannot be edited, so another field group is needed. If no field group exists, you can still add a field. The first field added to a class creates a field group automatically with a default name that can be renamed as needed.

You can add a field group by following these steps:

  1. Open the Project Tree window if it is not already open.
  2. Expand the Project Tree and select the class where the field group is to be located.
  3. On the Design tab, in the Create group, click Add Field Group.

    A field group with a default name is added to the Project Tree and displays that Field Group in the Details window.

  4. Rename the field group with a more descriptive name.
  5. Add or move fields to your new field group.
