Generate a classification benchmark using all classification settings

You can generate a classification benchmark using all of the classification settings in your project. This includes all classification settings on the Project Settings - Classification tab, class settings, all classifiers, any classification instructions, and any classification script events.

To generate this type of classification benchmark, you need to use either your Classification Set or a benchmark set. You may need to convert a custom Test Set into a benchmark set and assign a class to each document in the benchmark set.

You can generate a classification benchmark using all classification settings by following these steps:

  1. Open the Documents window if it is not already open.
  2. In the Documents window, select your benchmark set.

If you do not have a benchmark set, convert a custom test set.

Your benchmark set expands and its documents are displayed.

  3. On the Process tab, in the Benchmark group, click Classification Benchmark - Classification icon.

A submenu shows additional classification benchmark options.

  4. On the Classification submenu, select Classification Benchmark using All Project Classification Settings Classification Benchmark (All Classification Settings) icon.

The Classification Benchmark window opens and a progress bar shows the progress of classification with hierarchical rules. When completed, the results are displayed in a Result Matrix.

  5. Hold the mouse cursor over the cells in the Result Matrix grid for more information.

Green indicates where the Assigned Class matches the Classification Result. Red indicates where the Assigned Class does not match the Classification Result.

Tip Clicking a column loads documents from that column into the Selection document set. This enables you to work with those documents to troubleshoot unclassified or incorrectly classified documents.
  6. Optionally, add one or more classification benchmark exceptions and regenerate the classification benchmark.
  7. Optionally, save your classification benchmark for comparison at a later time.
  8. Optionally, compare two classification benchmark results.
