Import classification instructions

Once you export instructions from another project, you can import them for re-use in other projects. This reduces effort because you are not forced to re-create the instructions from scratch each time they are required. Use this option when you want to add classification instructions to a class that has no instructions, or if you want to overwrite the existing instructions.

Note When you import classification instructions into a class using the "Import" option, any existing classification instructions are deleted. If you want to keep th existing instructions use the Import as New option that appends imported classification instructions instead of replacing them.
You can import instructions by following these steps:

  1. In the main Project Builder window, hide or close any windows that block the Ribbon.
  2. Open the Project Tree window if it is not already open.
  3. Expand the Project Tree and select the class.
  4. Optionally, view the class contents if they are not already displayed.

    The hidden class contents are displayed.

  5. On the Design tab, in the Edit group, click Import Import icon.

    The Import Instructions window is displayed.

  6. Select a file that contains previously exported instructions and click Open.
    Note Any existing instructions are deleted and the new instructions are available for editing and modification.
  7. Optionally, delete or modify instructions in the Instruction Details window.
