Design tab

The following options are available on this tab. Depending on what is selected in the Project Tree, different options are enabled or disabled. In addition, several options are available in a shortcut menu. The shortcut menu differs depending on what is selected in the Project Tree.

Add Folder icon

Add Folder

Adds a folder to the selected folder in the Project Tree.

Important This option is available only if foldering is enabled for your project.

Add Class icon

Add Class

Adds a class to the root Project Class, or a subclass to the selected class in the Project Tree. The Class Properties are displayed in the Details window so that you can configure the class.

Add Instruction icon

Add Field Group

Add a field group to the selected class in the Project Tree. You can add related fields and tables to the field group.

Important You cannot add fields or tables to an inherited field group as these are read-only.

Add Field icon

Add Field

Adds a field to the selected field group in the Project Tree. The Field Properties are displayed in the Details window so that you can configure the field. If there is no field group, one is created automatically when the field is added.

Add Table icon

Add Table

Adds a table field to the selected class in the Project Tree. The Table Field Properties are displayed in the Details window so that you can configure the table field. If there is no field group, one is created automatically when the table field is added

Add Locator icon

Add Locator

Adds a locator to the selected class in the Project Tree. Basic details are displayed in the Details window.

Add Single Validation Rule icon

Add Single Field Validation Rule

Adds a single field validation rule to the selected class in the Project Tree. The Single Field Validation Properties are displayed in the Details window so you can configure your rule as required.

Add Multi Validation Rule icon

Add Multi-field Validation Rule

Adds a multi-field validation rule to the selected class in the Project Tree. The Multi-field Validation Properties are displayed in the Details window so that you can configure the rule.

Add Structure Rule icon

Add Structure Rule

Adds a structure rule to the selected class in the project. If the top-level Project Class is selected, a project-level structure rule is added. Otherwise, a class-level structure rule is added. The Structure Rule Properties are displayed in the Details window so you can configure your rule.

Add Instruction icon

Add Instruction

Adds a classification instruction to the selected class. The Instruction Properties are displayed in the Details window so that you can configure the instruction.

Rename icon

Rename

Makes the name of the selected item the Project Tree available for editing.

Cut icon

Cut

Cuts the selected item from the Project Tree and copies it to the clipboard. This option is not available for all Project Tree items.

Paste icon

Paste

Pastes an item from the clipboard to the location selected in the Project Tree. This option is not available for all Project Tree items.

Delete icon

Delete

Removes the selected item and all associated data from the project. You are prompted to confirm your deletion.

Move Up icon

Move Up

Moves the selected item up one position in the Project Tree. This option is not available for all Project Tree items.

Move Down icon

Move Down

Moves the selected item down one position in the Project Tree. This option is not available for all Project Tree items.

Export icon

Export

Opens the Export window so that you can export the instructions in the selected class or the selected locator, for use in another project.

This option is available for locators and classification instructions, but only when a class has at least one locator or classification instruction.

Import icon

Import

Opens the Import window so that you can overwrite the instructions in the selected class or the selected locator, with previously exported items.

This option is available for locators and classification instructions only.

Replace Locator icon

Import as New

Opens an Import window so that you can import an item into the project without affecting the existing items. The selected class in the Project Tree determines where the item is imported.

This option is available for locators and classification instructions only.

Validation Forms - Design icon

Customize

Click on the main button to customize the default validation form for the selected class, or select a step from the submenu. The Validation Form Layout window is displayed for the selected validation step and class so that you can configure the validation form.

Tip For the best results, perform this step after you complete all classification and extraction settings.

Validation Forms - Delete icon

Delete

Removes the customized validation form for the selected class. Alternatively, you can select a validation step from the submenu.

Validation Forms - Copy icon

Copy

Copies the layout of a validation form from a class in the Project Tree. Alternatively, you can select the class that to copy from the submenu.

Validation Forms - Design Folder Layout icon

Customize Folder Validation Form

Click on the main button to customize the default validation form for the selected folder. The Validation Form Layout for Folder window is displayed.

Important This option is available only if foldering is enabled for your project.

Validation Forms - Delete Folder Layout icon

Delete Customized Folder Form

Removes the folder validation form for the selected folder.
