Table models

Click this button to open the Tables tab on the Project Settings window where you can define or edit table models. These table models are then used to create a Table Locator.

Detection mode

There are two methods that can be used to locate tables on a document:

  • Automatic. This is the default value for this option.

  • Manual.

Depending on the method, different options are available.

Enable training

Select this option if you want to use this locator as a trainable locator. You need to create a training set for it from sample documents or documents that are returned by the Validation module. This option is only available if the detection method is set to Automatic. This option is cleared by default.

Automatic Table Extraction

This group is only available if the detection method is set to "Automatic". It has the following options:

Locator that finds amounts

Select a Format Locator from the list that is configured to locate all of the amounts on a document. The value for this option is set to empty by default.

Line Item Matching Locator

Select a Line Item Matching Locator that is configured to extract and match line items on the invoice or invoice-related document. The value for this option is set to <none> by default.

Note To use the Line Item Matching Locator as input, you need to configure and position this locator above the Table Locator in the Project Tree window.
Manual Table Extraction

This group is only available if the detection method is set to "Manual". It has the following option:

Select a sample image

Select a sample image from a document set. The master line item is defined on the Master Item tab using this image. The value for this option is set to <none> by default.

Beginning and End of Table

This group has the following options:

Table header packs
If you want to use a table header pack to help find the beginning of a table, select one or more of the available table header packs. This option is cleared by default.
Note If the table Detection mode is set to Manual, the start-of-table and the table header pack have the same functionality, to ignore extracted rows above the beginning of the table. In Manual mode, the header pack result is more important, so takes precedence over a start-of-table result. If the table Detection mode is set to Automatic, the table header pack is very important because it not only detects the top of the table, it also segments the columns. The start-of-table dictionary is only used in this mode if the table header pack fails to located the top of the table.
