Open Document Set window

Use this window to load documents from the file system into a document set. By default, the document set created when documents are added is a Test Set. You can then change the document set type as required.

Path

Enter a directory or browse to the location where the documents are located.

File Type

Select one of the following file types:

Automatic

Select this option if the selected directory has unknown document types, or a mixture of document types. This is the default value for this option.

The file type with the most available information is loaded. This means that an folder.xfd file is loaded first, then an XDocument (*.xdc), and finally, image (*.tif, *.jpg, *.png) or text (*.txt) files are loaded.

Important If you have *.xdc files in the parent directory, and *.tif files in nested directories, only the *.xdc files are visible in the Test Documents pane.

If you does not want the file type to be selected automatically, you can select it manually.

Note Folders are only displayed when folders are enabled for the project within the project settings.
Batch (Folder.xfd)

Select this option to load an XFolder that contains a hierarchy of documents. This option is commonly used to test batch editing and foldering.

XDocument (*.xdc)

Select this option to load all available XDocuments from the selected file system location.

Source Files

Source files can be used for testing and optimizing your project.

Select on ore more of the following file types:

Text File (*.txt)

Select this option to load all available text files from the selected file system location. This option is selected by default.

PDF File (*.pdf)

Select this option to load all available PDF files from the selected file system location. This option is cleared by default.

Image File (*.tif, *.jpg, *.png)

Select this option to load all available image files from the selected file system location. This option is cleared by default.

Options

This group has the following options:

Include subdirectories

This option is available only when the selected Path contains one or more subdirectories.

Select this option to include all documents in all Path subdirectories in the document set. This option is selected by default.

You can also refine how the subfolders are treated by selecting one or more of the following options:

Create folder for each subdirectory

This option is available only when folders are enabled and when the Include subdirectories option is selected.

Select this option to create a project folder for each directory nested inside the selected Path directory, as well as the Path directory itself. This option is cleared by default.

Create subset for each subdirectory

This option is available only when Include subdirectories is selected.

Select this option to add a new document subset for each directory nested inside the selected Path directory.This option is cleared by default.

Each document subset is named based on the corresponding directory name. You can rename the document subsets at any time.

Assign subdirectory as class for each document

This option is available only when the Include subdirectories option is selected.

Select this option if you want to assign a class to a document based on the subdirectory name. This option is cleared by default.

Create classes in Project Tree

This option is available only when both of the Include subdirectories and the Assign subdirectory as class options are selected.

Select this option if you want to add a class to the Project Tree hierarchy for each subdirectory in the selected Path directory. This option is cleared by default.

The Path directory itself is not included in the Project Tree, and the names of the subdirectories are used as the class names.

Important If a document set already exists for a selected directory, none of the options are available. If you change the file type for an existing document set, it is overwritten.
