Set the importance of a database field

The importance of a database field can be modified to affect the results of the Database Locator. Do this by placing a higher or lower importance on a field value being present in the database.

For example, if a value for "Country" is of low importance, there is minimal impact to the confidence of the record if it is not found on the document. Alternatively, if there is no entry in the database for "City," which is of high importance, the confidence of that record is likely very low.

You can set the importance of a database field by following these steps:

  1. Open the locator properties.
  2. Click the Fields tab.
  3. In the Field properties table, select the field to configure.
  4. Click the value in the Importance cell and select the importance value from the list.
  5. Repeat these steps for each field as required.
  6. Open a test document and click Test to test your settings.
  7. Optionally, click Close to close the locator properties window.
  8. Save the changes to your project.
