When a project is created, the following recognition profiles are created automatically:

A default profile for each of the page, zone, and OMR profiles is marked with the default symbol. These default profiles are used automatically when adding a new profile using the respective profile type. You can modify the default settings after adding the new profile.

Each of the default profiles is configured for a specific purpose. For example, the default zone recognition profile uses the RecoStar recognition engine and is optimized for hand written alphanumeric characters. In addition to this profile, other examples include a RecoStar zone profile optimized for hand written numbers, a FineReader zone profile optimized for machine printed alphanumeric characters, and an OMR zone profile optimized for automatic detection of multiple mark selections.
