Update the reference project automatically

When a reference project file is selected, a local copy of the referenced project is added to the current project. Any changes made to the original reference project file are not copied to the local reference project copy. This keeps the local referenced project copy up-to-date with the original reference project file.

When the extraction processes are restarted or the project is loaded, the modification date of the referenced project is compared to the copy in the project. If the referenced project is newer, the copy is updated automatically.

You can update a reference project automatically by following these steps:

  1. Open the locator properties.
  2. On the General tab, select Automatic update from project file.

    If the referenced project is modified, it is updated in this project.

  3. Open a test document and click Test to test your settings.
  4. Optionally, click Close to close the locator properties window.
  5. Save the changes to your project.
