When a batch is processed by Kofax Transformation Modules, it stores all collected information that is generated from each step, in a single container called an XDocument (XDoc). When the batch is finished processing, the contents of the XDoc are released.

During design and testing of a project, the XDoc can be used in Kofax Transformation - Project Builder to speed up testing and evaluation as recognition results can be generated offline. An XDoc has a binary file format that cannot be directly accessed, therefore XDoc Browser is provided to enable users to access the contents of an XDoc.
