Edit tasks in a configuration

How to view and modify task properties

  1. Make sure that the task you want to edit shows in the configuration editor window of AutoStore Process Designer.
  2. On the Home tab of the ribbon, click Properties.
    Alternatively, you can double-click in the process viewer window.
  3. Modify process attributes in the Task Properties dialog box, and then click OK.

How to activate or deactivate at task in a workflow

Workflows defined by a task are only run after you start the AutoStore service when the Active option is selected in the task properties. Clear this option when you do not want workflows defined by a particular task to be run with other tasks in a configuration.
  1. Make sure that the task you want to edit shows in the configuration editor window of AutoStore Process Designer.
  2. On the Home tab of the ribbon, click Properties.
    Alternatively, you can double-click in the process viewer window.
  3. In the Task Properties dialog box, and either select or clear the Active button.

Add a component to a task

  1. Click the component icon in the Toolbox to select it.
  2. Use one of the following drag-and-drop procedures to add the component to your task:
    Component typeDo this
    Capture Drag the component into the process viewer. If a process already has a capture component, you will be prompted whether to replace it.
    Process Drag the component onto a connection line between two components. You can drop the component when the color of the line changes to indicate that icon is on top of the connection.
    Route Drag the component into the process viewer. If a workflow already has a route component, you will be prompted whether to replace it.

Arrange component icons in a task

Perform this procedure to quickly arrange component icons in a task so they appear in a linear order with connector lines of uniform length.
  1. If necessary, click the task tab that you want to edit to bring it to the front.
  2. On the Home tab of the ribbon, click the Arrange button.
    The Arrange button is located in the Task group of buttons on the Home tab.

Remove a component from a task

Do either of the following to remove a component from a workflow:
  • Right-click the component in the process chain and click Remove on the shortcut menu.
  • First click the component in the process chain to select it, then press the Delete key.

Remove a task from a configuration

You cannot delete a task when it is the only task in a configuration.
  1. In the configuration, click the tab for the task you want to remove if it is not already selected.
  2. Click the Delete button on the ribbon. You can also right-click in the Task Viewer and click Delete Task.
