Problem description Solution
When you specify a custom query on the General tab and click Test query button, the test fails with a "Bad command syntax" error message. The possible reasons of this error are as follows:
  • You have specified an incorrect IMAP query.

    To fix it, revise your query to make sure that it is correct.

  • Your query contains extra spaces.

    To fix it, make sure that your query does not contain extra spaces between query expressions and inside them.

  • Your mail server does not support multiline IMAP search queries.

    To fix it, try to specify all your query in one line.
