Adding and Editing a Group of Devices

A device group specifies the forms that will be displayed at the device along with the corresponding repository to be used. Additionally, authentication is enabled on a per-group basis.

By default there is a single group called Default Group. All devices which connect to AutoStore server will automatically belong to Default Group unless another group has been configured which explicitly incorporates the IP address of a connecting device. A device can only belong to one group. If a device is added to a second group, an error message will be displayed stating that devices can only belong to one group.

Additional groups can be created and specific devices can be assigned to those groups. Managing groups in this manner allows you to configure a different function for each group even while devices in all groups are connect to the same server. This allows different forms to be displayed on devices in different device groups.

A group can be added by right-clicking any group, menu, or form on the General tab of the Konica Minolta MFP dialog box, pointing to Add on the shortcut menu, and then clicking Group of Devices. This opens the Group Settings dialog box. An existing group can be edited by right-clicking the group and clicking Edit on the shortcut menu.
