File menu

Use commands on the File menu to create new configurations, save changes to a configuration, print a task, email, or close a configuration file. The file menu also displays commands to configure or close the application.

The File menu on the AutoStore Process Designer ribbon has the following commands.

Command Description
New Creates a new configuration. Click this command or press Ctrl+N to open the Task Properties dialog box in which you can specify the name and configure other options for the first task in the configuration. Clicking OK adds the new configuration as a tab at the top of the workspace. The tab is initially labeled CFG followed by an ordinal number. You will be prompted to enter a file name the first time that you save the configuration.
Open Opens a configuration or template file. Click this command or press Ctrl+O to open the Open dialog box. In the Open dialog box, you can specify either CFG Configuration (*.cfg) or CTF Template (*.ctf) to browse for configuration or configuration template files.
Save Saves changes to the active configuration file (.cfg) or configuration template file (.ctf). This command is unavailable after you create, open, or save a configuration until after you add the capture component to a new configuration or make changes to an existing configuration.
Save as Saves a copy of the active configuration to either a configuration file (.cfg) or a to a configuration template file (.ctf). This opens the Save as dialog box. In the Save as type box, you can specify either CFG Configuration (*.cfg) or CTF Template (*ctf). The only difference between these two file formats is that one has the .cfg extension and the other has the .ctf extension.
Print Prints the task that is displayed in the workspace. Clicking this command expands options for Print, Print Setup and Print Preview commands. Clicking the Print option prints the visual representation of the process as displayed in the AutoStore Process Designer workspace. To view or print the contents of a configuration file, you must open the configuration file in a text editor, such as Notepad, or a code editor, such as Notepad++.
Send Emails a copy of the configuration file for the active configuration displayed in the workspace using the default email application for your Windows profile.
Close Closes the currently active configuration file displayed in the workspace.
APD Options Opens the APD Options dialog box to configure options for the application. For more information about these options, see APD Options dialog box.
Exit APD Closes the AutoStore Process Designer application.
