How to Use CDA Builder

The CDA Builder process component lets you edit existing CDA XML templates.

The following procedure provides an example of a common usage scenario.

  1. Design a workflow process by selecting the AutoCapture capture component.
  2. Use the CDA Builder component as a process component, and the Send to Folder component as the route component.
  3. Activate the CDA Builder component and select an existing CDA XML template for editing.
The elements of the selected template are shown in the display area of the component.
  4. Right-click an element in XML template to open the XML Element Editor.
  5. Add a new attribute to the edited element or embed RRT metadata to the attribute value in the Element Attributes grid.
  6. Configure the optional attributes in the Attribute Options grid.
The configuration or usage of optional attributes is only to help edit the CDA template and is not mandatory. If the edited element name is in the CDA_attribute_option.xml file, the Attribute Options grid will be filled with options from this file.
  7. Configure a Text Node or a Comment Node by adding text or embedding RRT, in the Sub Nodes grid.
  8. Configure the other components in the workflow.
  9. Start AutoCapture, fill in the form.
  10. Run the process.
