I-Queue Direct printing

I-Queue Direct enables you to print directly to a printer (without driver installation and authentication or Follow-You Printing at a printer) in a simple and straightforward method.

I-Queue Direct Printing Workflow

After the I-Queue Direct printing has been enabled and the I-Queue feature of the Workstation Client is installed, the workstation client installs a new printer with name I-Queue Direct after a DRC cache update (either manual or automatic). This I-Queue Direct printer uses I-Queue Printer Port and Universal Print Driver and appears in the Windows built-in printer list.

To release print jobs through an I-Queue Direct printer, do the following:

  1. The user prints to the I-Queue Direct printer on their workstation.
  2. The I-Queue Direct Printers pop-up window appears with a list of printers configured for I-Queue printing with associated I-Queue Port in Equitrac System Manager.
Your recently used printers are displayed first in the list. This way you can easily select a printer you find next time.
  3. When searching for a printer, you can specify associated attributes (for example, color, name or model) in a field in order to filter the list of the printers with the available printer properties.
  4. (optional) The system administrator can provide a printing info sheet next to the printer with a printer code. This way, if you have the printer code, you can type this in the I know my printer code field instead of browsing in the printer list.
  5. Select a printer and click OK.
  6. Additional steps are not required as print queues are not available in this printing mode. The user then collects their print jobs.
