Set print preferences

If you want users to adjust print preferences before printing, use MFP Kiosk Preferences profiles in the Device Configuration to make print preference available to users.

The following conditions must be met to use this profile to set print preferences for print release:

  • The associated destination is configured with a printer family that supports the device.
  • The associated destination is configured to use the Apply Print Preferences output process.
  • The configured printer family supports the data format of the document, for example PostScript or PCL.
  • The configured printer family supports modifying the print preferences selected here. If you are using a device that is branded by a manufacturer other than Lexmark, you need to manually select the corresponding Lexmark Model Printer family when you create or configure a destination. See MFD and Productivity Supported Devices for an updated list of specific models.
Modifying PostScript data from third-party drivers is not supported. Use the Output Manager Universal PostScript Driver instead.
  1. In the Device Configuration window, click the Device Details tab.
  2. Select the Unified Client option.
  3. Under Unified Client, click New.
  4. Type a name for the profile in the Name field.
  5. Type a profile description in the Description field.
  6. Click the arrow next to any item to expand an option group.
  7. Select the check box next to a print option to add it to the Selected items list.
  8. Click OK.
  9. If the Unified Client for Lexmark is already started, restart it to implement the changes. To restart the unified client, go to https://device_IP/#/Applications, where device_IP is the IP address for the Lexmark device.
