Download debugging logs

The Unified Client for Lexmark collects debugging information for deployment and usage issues. You can download these debugging logs to send to Kofax support for troubleshooting purposes.

Before you can collect and download logs, you must ensure that the logging feature is turned on. Complete the following steps:

  1. In a Web browser, go to https://device_IP/, where device_IP is the IP address for the Lexmark device.
  2. Click Apps > Kofax Unified Client.
  3. Click Configure.
  4. Select Advanced Log and click Apply.
  5. Stop and start the Kofax Unified Client.
    Now when you encounter an issue or reproduce an existing one, logs are created.
  6. To view the device logs, in a Web browser, go to http://device_IP/cgi-bin/prtapplog.
  7. To download the logs, go to https://device_IP/esf/DwsMain/advancedlogs?showall and do one of the following:
    • Download the logs individually.
    • Download multiple logs by providing the number of logs you want to download. Use the following link and specify a number from 0-9 at the end of the link, where 0 is the more recent log:

      https://device_IP/esf/DwsMain/advancedlogs?download=n

    Each log can reach a maximum size of 10 MB. Once a log reaches that size, a new log is generated.
