Set up a scan watch folder

  1. Create a folder on the DWS server (in this example, the name of this machine is DWSServer).
  2. Share this folder over SMB (Properties > Advanced Sharing > Permissions).
  3. Give it a known share name. In this example, use EpsonScans in C:\ root.
  4. Select a user with Full Control permissions. The MFP needs to have Server Message Block (SMB) access to this folder. In this example, use SCU for user.
  5. Set a password.
  6. Go to DRS, select the Devices tab.
  7. In the SCAN DESTINATION field enter fully qualified share name //DWSServer/EpsonScans.
  8. In the SCAN DESTINATION - USER field, enter <domain>\SCU.
  9. In the SCAN DESTINATION - PASSWORD field, enter the password you set in the previous step.
  10. In the DWS LOCAL SCAN PATH field, enter the local path to the share, that is C:\EpsonScans.
  11. Ensure that DWS user has Full Control in file system permissions.
  12. Verify access to SMB share as some security applications may block SMB traffic
