Scanning

You can define scan workflows to different destinations (such as email or folders). For each destination, you can define different types of forms where users can enter information at the device. When Unified Client for HP is configured with AutoStore, you can use Runtime Replacement Tags (RRT). The Unified Client for HP can coexist with native scan applications.

Note the following:

  • If the Unified Client for HP is configured for AutoStore only and is deployed in Authorization off mode, users can access workflows without any user authentication.
  • If you are scanning to email (including when using native scan applications), the logged-on user's email address is automatically added to the To field. You can fill the To, CC, and BCC fields by searching through your global address book, Exchange contacts, and LDAP. Field and component RRTs can be used for scan to email workflows.
  • If you are scanning to a folder with a native scan application, the logged-on user's home folder is automatically selected. The user is prompted to enter a password, if it is needed to access the folder.
  • If you are scanning to SharePoint, the fields configured on the server appear. Field, component, and password RRTs can be used as needed.
  • If you are using a single-function printer (SFP) device, you cannot access AutoStore workflows as scanning is not supported.
