Features

The Unified Client for Lexmark supports the following features:

ControlSuite
Unified Client for Lexmark is integrated through ControlSuite. This client supports a single Kofax application in one of the following configurations:
  • AutoStore only
  • Equitrac only
  • Output Manager only
  • AutoStore and Equitrac
  • AutoStore and Output Manager
Authentication
Authentication through ControlSuite requires users to enter valid authentication information to unlock the Lexmark device functions. Users can enter their authentication data using the device panel or by using a valid authentication card (when authentication cards are implemented).
By default, users must authenticate before using the device. If authorization is set to guest or is controlled by the administrator, then users can access device functions before logging into Kofax.
Athentication with Business Connect
If you are using a Kofax Micro Card Reader, you can use Business Connect to authenticate with the Unified Client for Lexmark.
Authentication with Common Access Cards (CAC)
For US Government accounts, the Unified Client for Lexmark can use CAC for authentication instead of the ControlSuite authentication model.
Card self-registration
Users can associate an unassigned card with their user credentials. Once associated, each time the user swipes the card, the system automatically recognizes the card and associated user. After plugging in the card reader, the device must be restarted.
Support for multiple DCE servers
You can designate up to four different DCE servers: one primary, and up to three backup servers. We recommend that the primary DCE is located on-site to allow for the fastest possible data transfer. Other DCE servers can be located off-site.
Workflows
Access to existing ControlSuite print and capture workflows.
Follow-You Printing
After logging in at the Lexmark device, users can access the virtual print queue to "pull" a print job to this device. Through the Follow-You Printing screen on the Lexmark device, users can see a list of documents in the queue, then select, delete, or release documents for printing.
Billing code and document accounting

When using the ControlSuite authentication module, the Unified Client for Lexmark can be configured to pop-up a billing code screen for print and copy transactions and this billing code is applied to the transaction for billing purposes.

Card readers
The Unified Client for Lexmark supports Kofax card readers and third-party card readers.
Job tracking
All scan, print, and copy jobs are tracked by the Unified Client for Lexmark and can be reviewed with Equitrac or Output Manager reporting.
User interface
Customizable user interface, which includes welcome image, text, and logo. You can also change the order of the Kofax workflows and native workflows on the Welcome screen and Logon screen.
