Limitation on Operating in MEAP Devices with an EFI Externally Attached Controller

The following is extracted from MEAP Web SDK manual.

If the Scan Service Provider is running on a MEAP device with an EFI externally attached controller, the FTP directory check and log transmission that are performed by the Scan Service Provider must configure the FTP to use PASV mode.

In active mode, the FTP communication fails because it cannot occur via the EFI externally attached controller mounted in the MEAP device.

If an EFI externally attached controller is mounted on a Grasmere/Chesterfield Series MEAP device, it has the following limitations.

  • If name resolution is performed on the MEAP device using DNS while the COLORPASS-GX400 is mounted, only IPv4 addresses can be resolved. IPv6 addresses are not supported.
  • When the IMAGEPASS-B2/IMAGEPASS-A2 is mounted, the MEAP device cannot use IPv6 addresses.

If an EFI externally attached controller is mounted on a Bedford/Miskin Series MEAP device, it has the following limitations.

  • If name resolution is performed on the MEAP device using DNS while the IMAGEPASS-U2 is mounted, only IPv4 addresses can be resolved. IPv6 addresses are not supported.
