Public access

When Authentication is on and Equitrac or Output Manager is the authentication provider, users have to log on to access any of the apps on the device, including native apps. You can configure the device to grant public access, which enables users to access other apps on the device without having to log on through the Unified Client for Konica Minolta. Activities performed by the public user are tracked in Equitrac as "unidentified" and in Output Manager as "None."

To grant public user access, the Unified Client for Konica Minolta must be registered on the device. Then, do the following:

  1. Log on to the device as an administrator.
  2. Select User Auth/Account Track > Authentication Type.
  3. In the Public User Access field, select one of the following options:
    • Restrict: The user must log on through the Unified Client for Konica Minolta to access the device. This is the default setting.

    • ON (Without Login): The user goes directly to the device Home screen to access apps on the device. Users can log on to the Unified Client for Konica Minolta by pressing the Access button on the front panel.

    • ON (With Login): The user goes to the Unified Client for Konica Minolta login screen. When they press Access on the front panel, the screen for entering the user name and password has a Public User Access button. Users tap the button to go the device Home screen to access apps. Users can also switch between public user access and logging on through the Unified Client for Konica Minolta by pressing the Access button.
