How to configure Canon MEAP Web preferences

  1. Click the Preferences tab.
  2. In the Home Directory field, enter the root directory where the server creates temporary directories and the files necessary to run the application.
The service account for the service must have full control permission in this directory.
  3. In the Web Server Port field, enter the port on which the web application runs.
    The default is 3242.
  4. In the FTP Port field, enter the port on which the embedded FTP server runs.
The default is 3281. The system uses this setting to receive files from the device over FTP.
  5. To configure FTP logging, click Advanced and then select Enable Log. In the Directory field, specify the directory where the system creates the logs.
  6. To ensure the files and log are successfully routed for MEAP devices with an external EFI controller, select Use PASV Mode.
  7. Select Processed files to keep a copy of all files that are processed without errors. Select the directory where the system stores the files.
If this option is enabled, a copy of every file that has been routed successfully is saved in the Processed Files directory. Make sure that sufficient disk storage is allocated if you select this option.
  8. Select Rejected Files to keep a copy of all files that are not entirely processed. Select the directory where the system stores the files.
The service account for the service must have write permissions on the Processed Files and Rejected Files directories.

How to set up optional temporary repositories

  1. Select Local FTP to use a local FTP server as the temporary repository for storing images scanned at the device.
  2. Enter FTP Port number. The default port is 21.
  3. For FTP Folder, enter the name of the subfolder where the scanned documents are temporarily stored.
  4. For Path to FTP Folder, enter the local path to the FTP Folder.
The Workflow server account must have permission to delete files from this folder.
  5. Type the user name and password.

You can access FTP settings when enabling authentication at the Group level. Select External FTP.
