Scan documents

Use the capture workflows to scan documents and send them to the desired destinations. These workflows are defined in AutoStore. When you log on to the device, the workflows that are available to you appear on the Launcher screen.

  1. Click the workflow you want to use to capture documents.

A capture screen with the name of the workflow appears. The screen contains a form with the fields assigned to the workflow.

Click the menu button (Menu button) to display additional options:

    About

Displays the version of DWS and the Unified Client for Konica Minolta.

    Server Status

Lists the names, status, and addresses of the servers connected to the device.

    Logout

Logs out of the current user session, and returns to the Login screen.

  2. Complete the fields for the job. An asterisk indicates a required field.

Click the field to enter the value, or click the button on the end to search for or select the value from a popup window. Close the window to select the values and add them to the form. For more information about the different types of fields, see Scan form fields.

  3. You have the option of changing the settings for the scan job, such as the color mode, file type, and resolution. If you are satisfied with the default scan job settings, you can skip to the next step.

If you need to change these or any other scanner settings, click Change. Depending on the type of the device and its configuration, you configure those settings from the device's native scan settings window or the Scan Settings window provided by AutoStore. Change the settings as needed and click Close.

If you use the Scan Settings window, note the following:

    • The scan settings that are available for change are set in AutoStore Process Designer. See Scanning settings in AutoStore for more information.

    • If an administrator had logged on to the device's web page, AutoStore scan settings are not available. An Unable to display scan settings error appears.

    • If you select a setting that is not supported by the device, the image is scanned at the device's default setting (such as US Letter size).

    • The Scan Settings window includes Photo as an option in the Scan Size field, but it is not supported. If you select Photo, an error appears.

  4. Click Scan.

The pages are scanned, and the status appears on the screen.

You can stop the scan by clicking Stop Job.

When the scan is complete and the Build Job option is enabled, you have the option of adding more pages or finishing the job. If you add more pages, you have the option of changing scan settings.
