Unified Client for Lexmark device properties

Unified Client for Lexmark device properties are configured in the Device Registration Service web console. When configured for a device group, they can be propagated to any device in the group.

These parameters define the device settings. Click the edit Edit button button to edit the parameters for a device. Click the save Save button button to save changes to the parameters or click the cancel button to discard changes.

Option Description
Name

The name of the Lexmark device or device group that identifies it on the network.

Address

The IP address or DNS address of the Lexmark device.

This is a device only parameter and will not be displayed when configuring parameters for a device group.
Username

The administrator user name for the Lexmark device.

Username is required to perform a selected action on the device.
Password

The administrator password for the Lexmark device.

Application

The application that is associated with the Lexmark device or device group.

Device Group

Click a group name in this box to change group membership. When a device is a member of a group it can optionally inherit device settings defined for the group. This allows you to simultaneously manage settings for multiple devices. Select the [Devices] option in this list to remove a device from group membership.

MFP TLS (https/https)

Specifies whether the device is configured to use TLS to communicate with the server. This setting is True as the Unified Client for Lexmark only supports https.

Authentication Screen Presents the authentication screen a user will see when they walk up to a device that is set up with authentication:

  • Welcome screen (default)
  • Logon screen

Customize Application Name To change the name of the application as it appears on the device, set to True and enter the names in the application name fields. To use the default application name, set to False.
Application Name The name of the application that is associated with the device.
Application Package The selected application package is downloaded to a device by the Install and Configure action.
Customize Assets Select True if you want to upload and customize the images and text on the device.
Application Logo The file name for the image you want to use for the application.

If you want to use a custom application logo image, it must in .jpg or .png format, no larger than 1MB, and meet these dimensions: 174 x 174 pixels.

Welcome Screen Image The file name for the welcome screen image.

If you want to use a custom welcome screen image, it must be in .jpg or .png format, no larger than 1MB, and meet these dimensions: 288 x 72 pixels.

Customize Welcome Screen Text Select True if you want to include a custom welcome screen message for users at the device.
Welcome Screen Text Enter the custom welcome screen message.
Customize Workflow Buttons Select True if you want to customize the order and type of workflows on the device.
Workflow Applications A list of native workflows you can add or remove from the Quick Shortcut bar on the Welcome or Login screen.
Reboot This option is required if you are using a card reader to log on to the device. If selected, the device is rebooted automatically after running the Install and Configure action.
For the IP address, you can enter IPv4 or IPv6 addresses depending on the configuration of your system. If you enter an IPv6 address, brackets ([ ]) are automatically added to it if missing when you exit from the field.
