Configure device for access control

This procedure shows how to create access control profiles for users, groups, and departments.

If the Device Configuration window for the device is not open already, follow the instructions in the Output Manager section of the help before continuing with this procedure.

Perform these steps only if access control is required.

Access control can be configured for users, groups, and departments. If access control is not configured, a default profile with full access is provided for new users.

  1. In the Device Configuration window, click the Device Details tab.
  2. Select Unified Client.
  3. In the Unified Client window, click Configure access control.
  4. Click the appropriate tab to configure access control for Users, Groups, or Departments.
  5. Click the browse button (...) for the user, group, or department that you want to configure.
  6. In the Manage MFP ACL Profiles dialog box, do the following: you can edit ACL profiles for the selected user, group, or department.
    • Select the ACL profile for the user, group, or department you want to edit.

    • Click New to create a new MFP ACL profile.

  7. Under Access Control Mode, select either of these options:
    • Basic: Select a general access level: Full access, No access, or Specific access.

    • Advanced: Select access for specific features on the device. Select the manufacturer and the features you want to grant access to.

  8. Click any one of the following:
    • OK: To accept the changes and close the window.

    • Cancel: To close the window without accepting changes.

    • Apply: To accept the changes and leave the window open.

The changes take effect the next time users log on to the Unified Client for Konica Minolta. You do not need to restart the Unified Client for Konica Minolta to implement the changes.
