Configuring User Authentication for InfoPrint

Before adding and configuring the InfoPrint device in Equitrac, some LDAP setup is required.

  1. In System Configuration, select Global Configuration Settings > Security and authentication > External Authentication to open the External Authentication window.
  2. In the External authentication window, select the LDAP checkbox, and do the following:
    1. Turn on the Enable LDAP Authentication key.
    2. Click Add in LDAP Server Configuration section
    3. Enter the host LDAP Serverdetails.
    4. Enter the Port number used by the LDAP server.
    5. Select any LDAP lookup Type from the list.
    6. Select Force SSL check box to use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption.
    7. Select Use LDAP version 3 check box to use LDAP 3.
    8. Select Direct bind as the Authentication method.
    9. Enter the LDAP DN Prefix (e.g. CN=admin) and DN Suffix (e.g. ,O=equitrac) to be placed, respectively, before and after the supplied user ID for simple authentication against LDAP.
    10. Select your User ID modification method from the list. If the user ID has the format of an email address, this setting allows the email domain to be removed.
  3. Click Save to save the settings.

Ensure that the user can be authenticated via LDAP. Refer to Configuring LDAP Synchronization for details on LDAP synchronization.
