Remove a node from the Security Framework Service

The following section shows how to remove a "live" (active) or "dead" node from the Security Framework Service. Whether removing a live or dead node, certain services and components must be unenrolled before the node can be completely removed.

What is a “live” node?

A “live” node is one where the security framework services are not running, but the server can be logged into.

What is a “dead” node?

A “dead” node is a server that is offline and cannot be pinged. Therefore you cannot go onto this server directly to run commands to fix the node in the security framework.
