Unified Client for HP application properties

A DRS Application profile for the Unified Client for HP specifies connection information for an AutoStore or Equitrac server. This information allows an HP device to use capture and print management services on these servers.

These properties appear in the DRS Details pane when you add or edit a Unified Client for HP application. You cannot change the Application type for an existing Application.

Property Description
Name

A name that uniquely identifies an Application.

Application Type

To create a new Unified Client for HP application in DRS, choose HP Unified Client for this option.

The remaining properties shown here appear after you make this selection. You cannot change the Application type after you save a new Application profile.

DWS Server Address

The host name for the DWS server. It is recommended that you use the use the fully qualified domain name of the server instead of the IP address.

If you change the primary DWS server address, in DRS, you must uninstall and deregister the application, change the server host name, and install and configure the application again.

DWS Server #2 Address The IP address of a second DWS server, if available. The Unified Client for HP application will use this DWS server in case the first DWS server fails or is offline.
DWS Server #3 Address The IP address of a third DWS server, if available. The Unified Client for HP application will use this DWS server in case the previous DWS servers fail or are offline.
DWS Server #4 Address The IP address of a fourth DWS server, if available. The Unified Client for HP application will use this DWS server in case the previous DWS servers fail or are offline.
Trust Self-signed Certificate for DWS Server An option to use certificates from a trusted certificate authority or to use self-signed certificates.
Server Configuration Select the type of server configuration for your application:
  • AutoStore and Equitrac
  • AutoStore and Output Manager
  • Equitrac
  • Output Manager
  • AutoStore
AutoStore Server Address

The AutoStore server host name.

AutoStore Server TLS Port

The port that the AutoStore server uses to communicate with the Unified Client for HP.

This setting must match the port number that is set on the Preferences tab of the HP Unified Client component settings in AutoStore. The default is 3310.

AutoStore Server Use TLS

Select True or False. This setting should reflect your AutoStore Server configuration. Verify it in the Preference tab of Unified Client for HP component. By default, the AutoStore setting Use TLS is False by default.

Trust Self-signed Certificate for AutoStore Server An option to use certificates from a trusted certificate authority or to use self-signed certificates.
DCE Server Address

The address for the primary device control engine for Equitrac.

This option is only available when Equitrac is selected as part of the Server Configuration.

Identifies an Equitrac server to be used to print documents. This can be an IP address, a system name (if the systems are in the same domain), or a fully qualified domain name.

DCE Server #2 Address

The address of a second fail safe device control engine for Equitrac. This setting is optional and is only displayed if 2 DCEs are installed.

DCE Server #3 Address

The address of a third fail safe device control engine for Equitrac. This setting is optional and is only displayed if 3 DCEs are installed.

DCE Server #4 Address

The address of a fourth fail safe device control engine for Equitrac. This setting is optional and is only displayed if 4 DCEs are installed.

Trust Self-signed Certificate for DCE Server An option to use certificates from a trusted certificate authority or to use self-signed certificates.
Print Manager Address The IP address or hostname of the Output Manager server.
Print Manager Port

The port that the Output Manager server uses to communicate with clients if TLS is not used.

This setting must match the port that is set for the Output Manager server. The default setting for Output Manager is 8068.

Print Manager Use TLS

The port that the Output Manager server uses to communicate with clients if TLS is used.

This setting must match the port that is set for the Output Manager server. The default setting for Output Manager is 8069.

Authentication This setting is set to True if the Unified Client for HP is an authentication provider on the device or False if authentication is completed by a third-party provider, such as CAC. This field is used for Equitrac or Output Manager.
Kofax Authorization

Select True to use one of the following authorization profiles:

  • Standard Kofax Admin Authorization
  • Standard Kofax User Authorization
  • Standard Kofax Guest Authorization

Select False if you want to use a different authorization agent.

If you want to change the authorization profile, you do not need to uninstall the client first. Update the Kofax Authorization profile and run the Update Configuration action.

  • For the IP address, you can enter IPv4 or IPv6 addresses depending on the configuration of your system. If you enter an IPv6 address, brackets ([ ]) are automatically added to it if missing when you exit from the field.
  • An application configured with Authentication set to True and Kofax Authorization set to False is unsupported.
