Printer Driver Repository

The Printer Driver Repository maintains printer drivers for the networked MFPs. The information of any stored packages and drivers, such as the Driver Name, Package Name, Minimum OS Version and Environment are loaded into the UI.

To configure and use the Printer Driver Repository, go to System Configuration > Global Configuration Settings > Printing > Printer Driver Management > Driver Repository.

A printer driver package contains the following information generated by the Equitrac Printer Driver Uploader tool:

  • Package name: Name of the printer driver package.
  • Description: Description of printer driver package.
  • Version: Version number of the printer driver package.
  • Date: Creation date of the printer driver package.
  • Driver name: The drivers that are part of the printer driver package.
    • Environment: 64-bit or 32-bit.
    • Minimum OS version: Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008, Windows 8 / Windows Server 2012, Windows 10 / Windows Server 2016/2019. The minimum operating system version where the printer driver can be used. The minimum OS version means that the printer driver can be used on that and later OS versions. For example: If the minimum OS is Windows 7 for a driver, then it can be used on Windows 7, 8 and 10 environments.
The Environment and Minimum OS versions are properties of the printer drivers, and every printer driver has its own values.

By default the Group the printer drivers by their driver packages option is selected. When grouping is switched on, the Package Name, Version, Date and Description are displayed. When grouping is switched off, the Driver Name, Environment, Minimum OS Version, Package Name, Version and Date are displayed.

The Printer Driver Repository allows users to Filter the printer driver packages by:

  • Environment: 64-bit or 32-bit.
  • Minimum OS version: Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008, Windows 8 / Windows Server 2012, Windows 10 / Windows Server 2016/2019.

If any filtering control is changed, the list of items are re-displayed to match the filtering.

Printer driver packages can be removed from the printer driver repository by selecting the Trash icon. Click Yes on the confirmation popup to remove the package from the list of available printer drive packages.

If no packages are listed, select the Upload package button and follow the instructions on the window about how to upload a printer driver package.
