Manage system tasks

  1. On the Home page, click System Settings > System Tasks.

The System Tasks page appears displaying a list of system tasks with the following details:

    • Name

    • If the task is active or inactive

    • Current interval in which the system task executes

    • Due date and time

  2. On the System Tasks table, select a task.

The system displays the task details.

  3. To modify the Interval in which to execute the task, enter the values in days, hours and/or minutes.

The system executes the task at the defined interval.

  4. To change the date and time of execution for tasks such as Job Scheduling:
    1. Click Yes for Use Start Time.
    2. Enter the values using the Calendar and Time Picker.

When you specify the start time, the system task first executes at the start time and the next execution depends on the interval set.

  5. Set the Operating Time (Start Time and End Time in Hours and Minutes) to optimize the use of resources for high priority work during critical times of the day. You can combine the operating time with the system task interval to calculate the next due date for the system task to execute.

When you set an operating time and a start time, the time portion of the start time is the first portion of the operating time. For example, if the start time is 06/09/2017 @ 14:08 and the operating time is 18:00 - 20:00, then the start time of the task will be 06/09/2017 @ 18:00.

    Note
    • If the date and time combined is in the past, an error appears.

    • If no time period is defined, the next due date for a system task is calculated using the active indicator and the system task interval.

    • When calculating the next due date for a system task assuming the task is active and past the starting time, then if a time period is defined, the next due date takes that into consideration. See the following table for examples:

Current time Operating time Interval in hours Next due time
      14:15 07:00 - 16:00 1 15:15
      06:15 07:00 - 16:00 1 07:00
      15:15 07:00 - 16:00 1 07:00 on the following day
      17:15 17:00 - 08:00 1 18:15
      14:15 17:00 - 08:00 1 17:00
      07:15 17:00 - 08:00 1 17:00

  6. To deactivate a task, click No for Active.
  7. Click Update Update.
  8. Click Refresh to get the latest details for System tasks.
