Create a form template

On the
Home page, click
.
The Form Template page appears.
- Enter a Name for the form template.
- In the Category box, consume the required category for the template. (Default: Your working category)
- For Touch Enhanced, click Yes to include the touch related controls and properties for a form template. (Default: No. It implies that the template will be created for the non-touch forms.)

By default, the width mode set in the system settings is displayed
for the form template. To change the default setting, select either option for
Width Mode:
- Fixed: Accept the default width (1300) or specify the required width, in the Width box.
- Percentage: Set the width in percentage (default: 100%) to display the form template relative to the browser window.

Click
OK.
A blank template opens.

A form template only supports one column.

The controls in the toolbox are available based on the Touch Enhanced setting.

The Column control, Mobile Capture, and Mobile Bar Code Capture controls are not available for form templates.

You can also specify the Width Mode from the Properties bar of a form template. Change the Width as per the configured Width Mode setting.

For a form template in which the Touch Enhanced option is set to Yes, the design width and height are set as per the tablet settings.

For a form template in which the Touch Enhanced option is set to No, the design width and height are set as per the desktop settings.

Add rows, cells, controls, actions, events, and resources as
required to a template, and define the following general properties:

Name
-
Category
-
Version
-
Width Mode
-
Width (%)
-
Associated Label Width
-
Update Control Width Setting

Click
Save.
The newly created form template appears under Form Templates on the Explorer.
