Add dependants to an activity

See Dependants.

  1. Select the activity for which to set dependents. For example, in the Loan Approval map, select the Forms Received activity.
  2. On the Extended Properties page, click the Advanced tab.

    A list of possible dependants appears.

  3. On the Dependants list, select the Is Dependant check box for the activity on which the current activity will be dependent for completion. For example, select the Email Form activity in the Loan Approval map.
  4. To only use the dependant when its path is active, select the Only When Active check box for that node.
  5. Click Save.

    Once the dependant is set, the current activity cannot complete unless the dependant activity is complete. For example, in the Loan Approval process, the Form Received activity cannot complete unless the Email Form is complete.
