Add document conversion profiles

  1. On the Home page, click System Settings > Document Conversion Profiles.
    The Document Conversion Profiles page appears.
  2. To add a document conversion profile, click Add for Document Conversion Profiles.
    The Document Conversion Profile page appears.
  3. Click the General tab and configure the following:
    1. Enter a unique Name for the document conversion profile.
    2. Enter a Description.

      The description cannot be more than 255 alphanumeric characters.

    3. In the Document Conversion Timeout (Seconds) box, specify the time in second within which the document conversion should be completed; otherwise the document conversion process stops.
    4. To allow converter to extract zip files, click Yes for Enable Zip File Extraction. (Default: No)
    5. To allow the converter to extract PDF file from portfolio PDF file, click Yes for Enable Portfolio PDF File Extraction. (Default: No)
    6. On the Convert To list, section the desired output file: (Default: TIFF)

      Pdf

      1. To allow conversion of XFA forms to PDF documents, click Yes for Flatten XFA forms to PDF/A Documents Using Adobe LiveCycle. (Default: No). Ensure the following:
        • Install the Adobe LiveCycle output service and ensure that the web service interface is available.

        • Configure the Adobe LiveCycle credentials in the Kofax Message Connector configuration.

      2. To concatenate the PDF files selected at the time of importing, click Yes for Concatenate Multiple PDF Files. (Default: No)
      3. To convert the PDF documents to the ISO-standardized PDF/A format, specialized for digital preservation of electronic documents, click Yes for Normalize Incoming PDF Documents to PDF/A. (Default: No).

      Tiff

      1. On the Scale To list, select one of the following:
        • No Scaling

        • Letter (8.5” x 11”)

        • Legal (8.5” x 14”)

        • A3 (297mm x 420mm)

        • A4 (210mm x 297mm)

        • A5 (148mm x 210mm)

        • Match best: This option matches the document size with the nearest available page size. These are Letter(8.5x11.0), Legal(8.5x14.0), A3(11.69x16.535), A4(8.267x11.692), A5(5.82x8.2677)

        • Match best US: This option matches the document size with only the standard US paper sizes (letter and legal).

        • Match best Euro: This option matches the document size with only the standard European page sizes.

      2. On the Image Color Depth list, select the required color for the output image:
        • Black and white

        • Grayscale

        • Color

      3. On the Image DPI list, select the resolution for the output image.
      4. On the Compression Quality list, specify the compression to perform on the output files. If 100 is selected, no compression is performed.
        Note Compression is only applicable to grayscale and color TIFF images. Compressing the images may affect image quality.

  4. Click the Advanced tab and select Yes for required Smooth and Render flags. Following flags are available: PDFPageDrawSmoothLineText, PDFPageDrawSmoothLineArt, PDFPageDrawSmoothLineImage and PDPageNoDither.
  5. Click OK.
