Configure a Validation activity

  1. Add a Validation activity to the map. See Add an activity.
  2. On the Extended Properties page of the Validation activity, click the Configuration tab.
  3. To configure input for a Validation activity, consume either a Document or Folder variable in the Input Document/Folder box.
    Note
  4. By default, the validation of documents with invalid fields is not completed and an error is thrown at runtime if the document has invalid fields. To allow validation of a document with invalid fields to complete at runtime, click Yes for Allow Validation to complete with Invalid Fields. However, you can reject the document that has the invalid fields and complete the activity.
  5. To use a classification group in a Validation activity, do the following under Classification Group:
    1. Click Yes for Use Classification. (Default: Yes)

If you do not add a classification group, users cannot change the document type.

    2. Select either option for Inherit from Process:

      • Yes: Inherits the classification group from the process. At runtime, a list of document types belonging to the classification group at process level appears. (Default: Yes)

      • No: Consume a Classification Group to change the classification group specific to this activity.

Note If you do not consume a particular classification group for the activity or inherit one from the process, or if you select to inherit the classification group from the process and have not associated a classification group at the process level, the system displays a message. You can save the process but cannot release it until the configuration is complete.
  6. In the Page Rendition group, select either option for Inherit from System:
    • Yes: Inherits page renditions from system. The rendition fields for the activity become unavailable.

    • No: Displays the Default Displaying Image option where you can select the page rendition to appear as default.

  7. In the Allow Modification of Imported Documents group, select either option for Inherit from Process:
    • Yes: Inherits the settings from process.

    • No: Allows to merge, split, delete, rotate or reorder pages.

      • To disable deletion of pages and merge or split documents that are imported but not scanned so that you do not loose the original copy of these documents, click No for Merge or Split Document and Delete Page. (Default: Yes)
      • To disable rotation of images and reorder of pages of imported documents that are not scanned so that you do not loose the original copy of these images, click No for Rotate Image and Reorder Page. (Default: Yes)

  8. Click Save.

At runtime, when you take the Validation activity, the generated Validation form appears.
