Compare packages

Compare packages to identify items that have changed between versions. You can compare a package with the system package or with other packages. The items that are different in the selected packages are highlighted. You can select the items and import without the need to navigate to the Import Packages page.

  1. On the Home page, click Packages > Compare Packages.
    The Compare Packages page appears.
  2. Click Browse and select the ZIP file, such as Mortgage.zip.

    All items from the selected package are displayed. The version and comments for the selected package are also displayed.

  3. By default, the System compares the artifacts of the package with the artifacts already existing in the system. To compare the package with another package, click Other Package and click Browse and select the package.
    By default, all items from the two packages are displayed. A scroll bar appears to enable scrolling so that the list of both packages scroll together and the items on each side are always aligned as you compare them.
  4. To compare items only from a specific group, such as Process, on the Artifact list, select the group to compare.

    The system displays the following:

    • Count of total number of artifacts.

    • Count of the same artifacts from the two packages.

    • Highlighted list of new and different artifacts.

    Artifacts are compared based on version numbers or datetime.

  5. To filter on new, different or same items, on the View list, select the option. (Default: Total - All the items from the selected artifact.)
  6. To import specific items from the package, select the check boxes for the items and configure the import options.
  7. In the Form Import Options group, include or exclude the following import options (Default: No):

    • Security Roles

    • Security Tokens

    • Security Role Members

    • Web Services

  8. To overwrite global variables in the existing target system, do the following:
    1. Click Yes for Overwrite Global Variables. (Default: No)

      In the Artifacts table, under Action column, the view option changes to Update.

    2. To update the value, click Update, make the changes and click OK.

    Note the following:

    • You cannot update the Complex and XML Expression variables.

    • If you select a package is created in the previous version of Kofax TotalAgility which has variables but does not have value, now you can select the variable and update the value.

  9. In the Data Import Options group, click Yes to Overwrite Server Variables. (Default: No)
  10. In the Non-Versioned Items group, click Yes to Overwrite the non-versioned items. (Default: No)
  11. Click Import.
    The import summary is displayed, along with any error or warning messages.
  12. Click Close to close the Compare Packages page.
