Configure a Create New Job activity

  1. Add a Create New Job activity to the map. See Add an activity.
  2. On the Extended Properties page of the Create New Job activity, click the Configuration tab.
  3. Select one of the following job types:
    • To create a new job, select CreateNewJob (if not already selected).

    • To create a new case, select CreateNewCase, and consume the required variable in the Case Ref box.

    • To create a new job in the case, select CreateNewJobInCase. You can create a new job in case based on the case reference or case ID. Select Case Ref or Case ID, as required, and consume the required variable in the Case Ref /Case ID box.

  4. Consume the business process (process, case or case fragment) to create a new job in the Process box.

    The initialization parameters for the selected business process map are displayed. The output parameters are only displayed if the new job is based on a Synchronous business process.

  5. Map variables from the main process map to the parameters of the new job process map by consuming the required variables in the relevant Value boxes.
    Note The variable types of the process variables must match the variable types of the initialization parameters.

    Initialization parameters can be passed from the main map to the second (if required), but output parameters cannot be passed from the second process map back to the main map.

  6. Click Save.
