Device administrator cannot log in and cannot reach [Settings\Registration]

Issue: The Admin user cannot log in at the device, and cannot reach the [Settings\Registration] section on the device web page.

  • On the device web page, the Administrator user has no access to the device [Settings\Registration] section, the Restricted from displaying this page error message appears.

  • At the device, the device administrator cannot log in. No error message appears, and the device switches to the Welcome screen after awhile.

Note:

This issue may occur only if the Unified Client for Canon login application is installed and used for Equitrac authentication.

Cause: System Manager ID and PIN was not set on the device web page at installation time.

Solution: You need to temporarily turn off the Unified Client for Canon login app on the device, switch back to the default authentication, set System Manager ID and PIN, then turn on the the Unified Client for Canon login app again:
  • Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the Canon device to open the web interface.

  • Under Management Tools, select Service Management Service.

  • Select Enhanced System Application Management.

  • In the list under Login Service, look for the User Authentitacion item and click it's Switch button on the right. The Status of the app turns to "Start after restart".

  • Restart the Canon device. Use the switch on the device or click Restart Device under Settings/Registration to restart.

  • Log in as Administrator on the device web page.

  • Select Settings/Registration.

  • Set the System Manager ID and PIN:
    • Under Management Settings, select User Management then System Manager/Contact Person Information Settings. The System Manager/Contact Person Information Settings page appears.

    • Under ID/Pin Settings, select Set ID and PIN, then enter System Manager ID and System Manager PIN. (Repeat System Manager PIN in the Confirm box.)

    • Click OK.

  • Under Management Tools, select Service Management Service.

  • Select Enhanced System Application Management.

  • In the list under Login Service, look for the Kofax Unified Client Login item and click it's Switch button on the right. The Status of the app turns to "Start after restart".

  • Restart the Canon device. Use the switch on the device or click Restart Device under Settings/Registration to restart.
