Configuring the backup

Backup is disabled by default. To enable daily backups, do the following:

  1. Open an Administrator command prompt.
  2. Change the directory to the SecurityFrameworkService\ControlSuiteConsole folder (typically, C:\Program Files\Nuance\Shared Services\SecurityFrameworkService\ControlSuiteConsole).
  3. Run the following command:

    ControlSuiteConsole.exe setbackup -Enable -p <backup-base-folder> -pw <backup-password>

    where:
    • <backup-base-folder> is the full path to the folder where backups should be stored
    • <backup-password> is the password to be used for encrypting sensitive parts of the backup. This password must be at least 12 characters long.
Once the backup has been configured, a backup will be created once per day as part of the scheduled daily maintenance. Each backup will be created in a subfolder of backup-folder named with the date and time that the backup was started.
Note:

It is the customer’s responsibility to set up a process for archiving and removing archived backups from the backup-folder.
