View source and result files

You can view any PDF or XPS source file before or after conversion.

Display a source file

  1. View icon If there is no file list on the right, select Source File from the View menu.
  2. If there is a file list, then select a file in the list, and then click on the View tool and select View Source from the drop-down list.

Convert Assistant launches the viewer associated with the PDF or XPS file type.

Note You must have an associated viewer for both file types. If you do not, you can view the pages of the source document in the Convert Assistant. Double-click on the preview window to see the rendered page images.

View result files using Convert Assistant

When a conversion is started from Convert Assistant, the result file will be displayed only if the View Result option is selected in the Output Options panel.

  • View Result icon To display the result file when there is only one, select View Result in the Output Options panel.
  • View Result icon To display the result file when there are multiple output files, select a source file in the file list, click the View tool and select View Result from the drop-down list; or select Result File from the View menu.

    In the case of multiple output files, only the first file will be displayed automatically (provided the conversion was successful).

View result files using direct conversion

When you start a conversion from an integrated program without using the Convert Assistant, the result file will always be displayed in the target application regardless of the state of the View Result option.
