To set preferences for Text to Speech, select File > Options > Read Aloud.

• Language: Select a text-to-speech language for the TTS engine.

  Tip To add a language in Windows 10, select Settings > Time & Language > Region & Language and click +Add a language.

• Voice: Select a male or female voice to speak the text.

• Volume: Set the volume for text reading.

• Rate: Set the reading speed.

• Use tags for reading out if document is tagged: If selected, then text-to-speech engine relies on the tags of PDF objects. Clear this option to ignore tags and rely on content alone. See Reading_order_by_tag_structure for details on tag reading.
