Product activation

The Kofax Power PDF Product Activation dialog box appears when you start Power PDF, Create Assistant, Convert Assistant or Kofax PDF printer driver while the product is not activated. To access the Product Activation dialog box manually, click Activate in the Trial Mode / Reader Mode group on the Home tab.

Note Activation requires an Internet connection but does not send or expose any user or application data; the activation process confirms that you have a valid serial number that is not in use elsewhere.

The Product Activation dialog box includes the following options:

  • Launch in Trial Mode: Skip activation under the trial period, which lasts for 15 days from the day of the installation. During this period Power PDF, Create Assistant, Convert Assistant or Kofax PDF printer driver display this dialog box at startup. As the trial period ends, Power PDF switches to Reader Mode, serving as a PDF reader application with limited features. See Reader Mode for details.

  • Launch in Reader Mode: Continue to use Power PDF with limited features, after the trial period has been expired.

  • Activate product: End the trial period by providing a serial number that is not in use elsewhere. After activation, this dialog box and marketing messages are discontinued.

  • Purchase Serial Number: Access the Kofax website to purchase a Power PDF license with a serial number that can be used for the activation.

Note Power PDF displays marketing messages at each startup, as long the product is not activated, but runs in trial mode or in reader mode.
