Create one PDF per file

Follow the instructions in the tasks below to create separate PDF files for each source file in Power PDF and Create Assistant.

Create one PDF per file from Power PDF without Create Assistant

Power PDF uses the settings defined in the Kofax PDF Create Properties dialog box. You can access it through File > Print > Properties. For this task, profiles are not available.

Proceed with the following steps to create one PDF per file from Power PDF with Create Assistant.

  1. Click New in the File menu, and select From Files.
  2. Select Direct Creation from Files in the drop-down list.
  3. Select one or more files in the Open dialog box.

    Each file is saved to a separate PDF each it its own document window.

Create one PDF per file from Power PDF with Create Assistant

Proceed with the following steps to create one PDF per file from Power PDF with Create Assistant.

  1. On the File tab, select New > From Files.
  2. Select Create PDFs from multiple files on the right.
  3. Use drag and drop or click Add (Add icon) to build a file list in the Create PDF dialog box.

    The assemble drop-down list box (below the list) should already display Create a PDF for each input document.

  4. Select a profile in the profile list box (the one below) and click Profiles. Modify settings as preferred.
  5. Click Saving to define destination settings.
  6. Start PDF Creation icon Click the Start Creation tool.

    Saving is performed according to the current destination settings. The resulting PDF files are saved either in the source folder, or in a predefined folder, or the Save As dialog box appears.

    An information dialog box displays status info on the creation process and a list of the resulting PDF files with file name, path, file type and date of creation.

  7. Click Back to return to the Create PDF window, and then close it.

Tip Click a resulting PDF file in the Create PDF Info dialog box to display it.

Create one PDF per file using Create Assistant from the Start menu

After starting PDF creation, the Print Info dialog box will appear.

  1. Open Create Assistantfrom the Windows Start menu.
  2. Use drag and drop or click Add (Add icon) to build a file list in the Create PDF dialog box.

    The assemble drop-down list box (below the list) should already display Create a PDF for each input document.

  3. Select a profile in the profile list box (the one below) and click Profiles. Modify settings as preferred.
  4. Click Saving to define destination settings.
  5. Start PDF Creation icon Click the Start Creation tool.

    Saving is performed according to the current destination settings. The resulting PDF files are saved either in the source folder, or in a predefined folder, or the Save As dialog box appears.

  6. Click Back to return to the Create PDF window, and then close it.

Tip Click a resulting PDF file in the Create PDF Info dialog box to display it.

Create one PDF per file using the Windows Explorer shortcut menu

  1. Right-click two or more source files in Windows Explorer or on your desktop.
  2. Select Create PDF from file and then a profile from the shortcut menu.
  3. Check the target. The last shortcut menu item displays the currently selected target or the saving instruction Query file name. If Query file name is displayed, the Save As dialog box will appear after PDF creation where you can save the resulting PDF files.

Create one PDF per file using drag and drop

  1. Drag-and-drop multiple source files into the program window.
  2. Follow the instructions in Drag and drop to Power PDF.

    Each source file is converted to PDF, and can be saved to a separate PDF. Use Save or Save As to save the resulting PDF file. Each created PDF is displayed in its own document window.
