Start Convert Assistant from the Windows Start menu

  1. Open the Windows Start menu, then locate and open the Kofax Power PDF group.
  2. Select Convert Assistant.

  1. Right-click on a PDF or XPS icon or filename in Windows Explorer or an icon on your desktop.

    The context menu appears.

  2. Select Convert PDF/XPS in the context menu.

    A submenu opens.

  3. For automated conversion select a presets of a processing method and a target application (for example, As Document to Microsoft Word).

    The conversion runs without interactions. The output file is saved into the same folder and opens up in the default application of the selected format (such as Microsoft Word).

  4. For direct conversion select Convert Assistant.

    Convert Assistant appears, you may edit settings before starting the conversion.

Start PDF Convert from the Windows taskbar

  1. Right-click the Kofax Power PDF program icon if it is placed on the taskbar.
  2. Select Convert PDF from the jump list.
