Configuring Device Access Control

To configure user access to the device, do the following:

  1. Open a web browser, and enter the URL: http://<MFP_IP_address> in the address field.
  2. Click Sign In and enter your administrator User Name and Password.
  3. Click the Security tab, and select Access Control from the left navigation menu.
  4. Set the Device Guest option boxes to Requires Sign In for device functions you want to restrict to logged-in users. If you want to allow users to access the device function without signing in, leave the options unset.
    Allowing users to access device functions without first logging in requires additional configuration to tracking in System Manager. See the Kofax Equitrac Administration Help for more information about tracking.
  5. Set all Device User options to Access Granted.
  6. Select Local Device from the default Sign In Method drop-down menu.
  7. Select Use Default from the Sign In Method drop-down menu for all Control Panel Application options.
  8. Click Apply.

After installing the Equitrac Embedded for HP OXP solution, the Sign in Method automatically changes from Local Device to Equitrac Authentication Agent.

If a third-party application (e.g ShareScan) is installed after the Equitrac Embedded solution, you may need to return to the Access Control page and set the Device Guest option to Requires Sign In.
