ApeosPort multifunction devices

Fuji Xerox ECSP requires secure communication between the device and the Equitrac DWS. To establish secure communication, complete the following on the device using its Web UI:
This document includes examples taken from the ApeosPort-IV C3373 series. Differences with the ApeosPort-IV C3373 and ApeosPort-V C2275 series are indicated where applicable.
  1. Put the device into sleep mode by pressing the device’s Sleep button or wait for the sleep timer.
  2. Launch a web browser and enter the device IP address.
  3. If the Privacy error window appears, click the Advanced link and then click the Proceed to <device’s IP address> link.
  4. If needed, enter the administrator User Name and Password (default is 11111/x-admin).
When an administrator logs in to the ApeosPort web menu, it is logged in the Equitrac authentication report for reference.
You must set the Chain-Link value of 700-686 to 1 on all Fuji Xerox ApeosPort devices to display the logged in user's full user name instead of the user ID on the device screen. If you are not sure how to perform this configuration, contact your Fuji Xerox representative.
There is a difference in authentication behavior between ApeosPort-IV and ApeosPort-V devices: you must set the Chain-Link value of 701-436 to 0 on all Fuji Xerox ApeosPort-V devices for proper authentication behavior. If you are not sure how to perform this configuration, contact your Fuji Xerox representative.
  5. The device’s web page appears. Click the Properties tab and go to Security > Machine Digital Certificate Management. To check if a valid certificate is already established, click Certificate Management on the menu and then Display the list. If not, click Create New Self Signed Certificate.
  6. Enter the details required for the Self Signed Certificate. Increase Days of Validity to the maximum allowed (for example 365) and click Apply.
In order for the certificate to work properly, you must disable verification of remote server certificate:
    1. On the printer's web page, click the Properties tab.
    2. In the left menu click Security and then SSL/TLS Settings. For Verify Remote Server Certificate clear the Enabled check box.
    3. Click Apply.
  7. Configure the device’s web browser. Go to Properties > General Setup > Web Browser Setup and set Web Application Version to V4. Set Use TLS1.0 to Enabled and Use SSL3.0 to Enabled. Click Apply.
  8. Enable HTTPS on the device. Go to Properties > Security > SSL/TLS Settings and set HTTP – SSL/TLS Communication to Enabled. Set SMTP - SSL/TLS Communication to SSL/TLS and verify that port number in HTTP – SSL/TLS Communication Port Number is 443.
On the ApeosPort-V devices, you must also set SSL/TLS Communication to Enabled.
  9. Ensure the Secure HTTP (SSL) option to Enabled (it is by default). Go to Properties > Connectivity > Protocols > LDAP > HTTP and set the Secure HTTP (SSL) option to Enabled. This way, HTTP traffic is routed to the secure port when using HTTP with SSL.
  10. Set the Accounting properties.
    • Check that all Accounting Configuration types are set to Enabled (it is by default). Go to Properties > Accounting > Accounting Configuration.
    • In Accounting Login Screen Settings define alternative name for User ID. Go to Properties > Accounting > Accounting Login Screen Settings.

    • Check that all Accounting and Billing Device settings are set to Enabled (it is by default). Go to Properties > Accounting > Accounting/Billing Device Settings.

    • For proper processing of native device functions such as Native Copy, Native Scan and Native Fax ensure that Track Print Jobs with Accounting/Billing Device and Track Scan/Fax Jobs with Accounting/Billing Device items are set to Enabled. This way the jobs receive a single token, which precisely identifies the appropriate transactions. As the user, billing code or department balance is charged during transaction processing, if these items are not enabled, transactions are identified based on user name and time stamp, which is not precise and can lead to fault transactions.

The Interrupt Mode item is not available for the ApeosPort-V C2275 series.
  11. Click Apply and click OK to restart the device’s web server.
  12. Click Reboot Machine and click OK to reboot.
