Upgrade an Output Manager database on a remote SQL instance

SQL Native Client and SQL Command Line Utility have to be installed for the OM database upgrade scripts to complete the upgrade.

  1. Verify if the SQL Native Client is installed.

In a typical installation, SQL Native Client is located in the Windows\System32 folder. The file name is sqlncli11.dll or sqlncli13.dll.

  2. Verify if the Microsoft SQL Command Line Utility is installed by typing sqlcmd in the Administrator Command Prompt.

If it is not installed, the system displays a 'sqlcmd' is not recognized as an internal or external command message.

In a typical installation, sqlcmd is located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Bin\ or C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\130\Tools\Bin\ folder.

  3. If either of these needs to be installed, download ENU\x64\MsSqlCmdLnUtils.msi or ENU\x64\sqlncli.msi from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54279.
  4. Upgrade the Output Manager Database.

ControlSuite uses the Configuration Assistant to configure the SQL instance and database. Save and click Next. The database upgrade begins.

Output Manager 4.0 Service Pack 2 and previous Output Manager versions use the Autorun menu to upgrade the OM database.
