Copy enforcement and configuration

Equitrac Embedded for Fuji Xerox can enforce limits on the number of copies that a user can make based upon their account limit, color quota, and/or copy rule(s) configured in Equitrac Web System Manager. This feature does not work on all Fuji Xerox APEOS devices and is not enabled by default. You must enable this feature for a given DCE by creating the following registry entry:

DWORD: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Equitrac\DCE\FXAuthCopyStop = 1

Without this registry entry, Copy (black & white or color) enforcement occurs at user login, and if allowed, the user is able to make unlimited copies. If this registry entry is set and a device does not support this feature, the results are undetermined.

Enforcement only occurs at the start of a session when the user logs in.

With Equitrac, users are denied access to the MFP if they are out of funds, unless Scan and Fax transactions are not tracked. For information on configuring account limits, color quotas, and copy rules, see the Kofax Equitrac Administration Help.

In addition, when account limits are enabled with Equitrac, copy limits are enforced automatically based on users’ account balances. Equitrac calculates how many pages can be printed based on the default page price for a copy and the remaining balance in the user’s account.
