Configure the Quick Shortcut buttons

You can set up pre-configured Quick Shortcuts buttons that show Kofax workflows (Print Release or Release All) and native workflows (Copy, Fax, Scan, and extended native applications if supported on your device) on the Welcome screen and Logon screen.

On devices with a small screen size (width is 480), a maximum of three workflows are shown. On devices with a medium screen size (width is 800) and large screen size (width is 1024), a maximum of five workflows are shown. If there are more than five workflows, the Quick Shortcut bar allows you to swipe to the next page.

Do the following, depending on the type of workflow you want to configure:

Configure the Kofax workflows

  1. In a Web browser, open Web System Manager by entering https://web_server_address/EQWebClient.
  2. In System Configuration, click Global Configuration Settings.
  3. In the Workflows and Scanning section, select Workflow Containers.
  4. In the Quick Shortcuts row, click Edit.
  5. Next to Added workflow and containers, click Add/Edit.
  6. Click the Available workflows and containers list to add a new workflow.

    Once added, you can use the arrows to change the order of the workflows.

  7. Click OK, then click Apply.
It might take up to 24 hours for the workflow changes to appear. To reduce the wait time, in Web System Manager, click Diagnostics > Software. Select the check box next to the System Name header and click Force cache update.

Configure the native workflows

  1. In a Web browser, open DRS by entering http://<DRS_server>:9000/ where <DRS_server> is the IP address of the server where DRS is installed.
  2. In the Devices tab, select a Lexmark device to update.
    If you have not added a device yet, complete the steps in Use DRS to configure and deploy the unified client.
  3. For Customize Workflow Buttons, select True to display the available workflows.
  4. In the Workflow Applications section, do the following:
    • To add a workflow, select it in the Available column and use the arrow to move it to Selected column.
    • To remove a workflow, select in the Selected column and use the arrow to move it to the Available column.
    • To change the order of workflows, use the up and down arrows to the right of the Selected column.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Run the Install and Configure or Update Configuration action to apply the changes.
When you return to the device, the native shortcut workflows are updated.
